The real estate market this week...
This week, at TeamWaldo in Winchester VA, we've noticed a slight upturn with the real estate market. There have been plenty of listings for buyers to choose from for quite some time now. Prices have been dropping almost monthly throughout the summer, and now it seems that listers have their homes priced as low as possible in hopes to sell before the school year starts and winter sets in. Foreclosures and short sales are also on the rise as a result of mortgage mistakes that occurred with the hot market. On the up side, buyers seem increasingly ready to buy right now. Prices are at a low and people want to get into a new house before the year's end.

I agree. I think people are just beginning to realize that it's a good time to buy. We should see a slow but significant change in the months to come.
I've noticed that it takes buyers several months to decide on a house, but as soon as they find it...the want to close as soon as possible.
The good thing is that Buyers, with homes to sell, are waiting until they get their homes under contract before they put a contract on a home to purchase. Too many buyers were losing the houses they fell in love with because they couldn't sell their homes in time.
I have been going on a lot of listing appointments and the one comment that seems to be comming from most of the sellers is that they listed my house and I never heard from them again. -- With the market this tough Real Estate Agents really need to be working harder and following up more often. We hear other complaints such as I have had 20 showings and I have no idea what they think of my home. Remember follow up Dahhh, your in sales.
What are some of the other grips that you are hearing out there? Anyone?
